Ram Charan learnt mixed martial arts for the film and trained with experts in Hong Kong. ![]() (Also Read: Shah Rukh Khan Visited Ram Charan Teja, and 'Girls Went Crazy') ![]() There's comedy, romance and drama to appeal to everybody, so people shouldn't treat this as an action film," he said and lauded the efforts of the actor for the preparation for his role. It's a pet name and it has nothing to do with the genre of the film. "Ram Charan Teja plays a stuntman and people around him call him Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee falls in the first category of films and that's why I think it will work," he said and added that audiences will find something different in the film, which hits the screens on October 16 worldwide.Ĭlarifying that the film can't be branded as an action movie, Mr Vaitla said that it has all the elements to entertain family audiences too. "I've made films where stories were told in an entertaining way and ones where I've tried to fit entertainment in the story. Hyderabad: Chiranjeevi on October 2 said that his cameo in his son Ram Charans upcoming Telugu movie Bruce Lee: The Fighter, will be like a delicious dessert after a good meal. ![]() Bruce Lee too is loaded with all the usual elements of entertainment but in the process I've deviated from the regulate template of making commercial films," Mr Vaitla told IANS. "One thing my films always guarantee is entertainment. Director Sreenu Vaitla says that his forthcoming Telugu film Bruce Lee: The Fighter is as commercial as any of his previous films but adds that he has attempted something different and has deviated from his regular template. ![]() This isn't a bad thing at all though, considering that it worked well for the DS game and such a straight-to-the-point game is also fitting for the Wii, and while it might not be particularly innovative, having pretty much no technological limitations for the game definitely shows. You still get booted onto a menu where you play different rhythm games to progress, get medals to unlock extra content as a reward for doing well and that's pretty much it. Rhythm Heaven Fever is pretty much as iterative of a sequel as you could ask for, since there isn't really anything new in terms of game structure. They're just adorable.Īfter releasing the DS game, an entry for the Wii would shortly follow. ![]() Anyways, the standouts for me for the first entry were:īlue Birds is not particularly complex mechanically, but I had the hardest time getting the timing right for the consecutive peaks in Blue Birds 2 and playing this game over and over made me fall in love with the poor birds. I also prefer the more rough pixelated sprites over the clean smooth lines from the later entries since it gives it a sorta lighthearted vibe that I love, and it's just a perfect fit for the system it was designed for. Personally, I like the DS game more than its sequel because it does really interesting things with the touchscreen that simply can't be replicated with buttons, even if it takes a while to get used to how to time the flicks and other motions. But well, that's probably the best thing you could say about a music-oriented game, istn't it? It's not only the incredibly catchy music either - the games' vibrant and unique artsyle and all the fluff text definitely helps it stick out on your memory for longer. I truly can't get the stupid songs outside of my head to the point where sometimes I even find myself tapping to the rhythm or repeating some of the cues from the games without even realizing, it's absolutely fucked up. it has pretty much taken control of my brain, to put it lighly. Ranking is equally as invisible to the player - characters will generally always react to you messing up and viceversa, but you will never know exactly how well you did until you finish the game and get a "Try Again", "OK" or "Superb" ranking.Īnyways, long story short, with the broken touchscreen out of the way, a few months ago I figured it was finally time to revisit the game (and its sequel on the Wii) and well. Each game is really a collection of smaller rhythm games that all play completely differently from each other with one key characteristic: there's no direct visual indicator for when exactly you need to place your inputs, which makes it much more about keeping an actual sense of rhythm than pattern recognition like most rhythm games (hence the SC5 comparison). ![]() In case you don't know what Rhythm Heaven is, I'd say "Space Channel 5 meets Warioware" is not a terrible way to describe it. Funnily enough, even before my eventual full playthrough this year and without really thinking about the game much, I still remembered so much of the music and timing for certain cues, which I guess should've been a warning of what would happen whenever I finally got around playing it again. ![]() 8 years ago? Back then I managed to beat a bunch of the games, but eventually my playthrough was stopped by my DS' bottom screen breaking (which obviously isn't the best for a game that is controlled exclusively* through the touchscreen :P). ![]() As an avid fans of the Game of Thrones television, I'd argue no other character plays the cold strategist as does 'Littlefinger'. Some sections feel slightly repetitive, but the flow of the chapters and the overall message remains intact. I am sure Giles detected a tone of disdain in sections within the original. My darker sense of humour is tickled when Giles describes outcomes for the weakest of leaders. Somewhat surprisingly to me, I found the lack of fanfare both engaging and refreshing. Indeed the content is often dry, with absolute clarity with each factor and situation described there is no room for ambiguity. I truly enjoyed this translation of The Art of War, both the strategies and tactics themselves and the way Sun Tzu's hands the advice down. Perfect union of ancient and fictional strategists I thought it might be a waste given it was so cheap to buy. Very much worth the price paid, I didn’t use my token though. It seemed to make more sense than marking no stars. There is no story and as such I marked it as five stars. Although I concede that at times I couldn’t shake the sense that, Petyr Baelish ‘Littlefinger’, was reading this book to me especially when speaking about spies. ![]() That being said, he has a pleasant, cool and clear voice that resonates well with the text. Adian Gillen’s ‘performance’ was excellent, although I have not listened to many audiobooks so I’m not sure what a good performance constitutes. As such this book transcends any notion that it is merely an ancient text on military stratagem and is much more akin to allegorical philosophy. However in my understanding of the text there are much wider applications of the wisdom shared by Sun Tzu, namely patience and the value of self reflection. ![]() The book seemingly offers very generalised advice to military leaders (no pun intended). I had heard of the Art of War and always wanted to read it, as any book that was written more than 2000 years ago and still holds reverence must be worth reading (or listening). I wasn’t sure what to expect when I bought this audiobook. This is a very good recording, and it would be a shame to overlook it because of a misunderstanding. I mention this because at least a couple of the commenters here have come to the wrong conclusions about what this audio book is, and a lot of people have taken their word for it, judging by the approval ratings. "Sun Tzu" appears to be an imaginary authority, inspired by a military expert named Sun Bin, rather than the actual author, so it's pretty logical. The Book of Ecclesiastes does it, too, for example, and so does the Chuang Tzu. As for the text speaking of Master Sun saying various things, that's not an uncommon device. For example, Lionel Giles' translation is 25 pages long and just under 11,000 words. A translation of the text itself will be no more than 80 pages, often in the form of verse or bullet points, though a given edition might be longer because it contains additional material, such as an introduction and some of the classical commentary. It was written down on scrolls around 500 BC. No, The Art of War is just pithy, and was never intended to be a book. People sometimes assume that because The Art of War is short, and it mentions Sun Tzu in the text, a given edition is an abridgment or a summary. The actual book The Art of War, not a commentaryĮxcellent reading by Aidan Quinn, and a nice translation by an uncredited translator. |
